Heating makes up a large share of household energy consumption. With solar collectors installed on a building’s roof or facade, much of the demand for heating of air and water will be covered via green and cost-effective solar energy. We have put together system components that optimise operations and provide the highest-possible energy yield.

Solar heating is becoming increasingly popular within the large-scale and commercial building segment. Inaventa Solar collectors are especially competitive when it comes to larger projects, as cost efficiency becomes comparatively greater. The light weight of the panels also means they are considerably easier to install relative to their metal-based counterparts.

Large-scale resources are being channelled towards ensuring that people living in vulnerable and underdeveloped areas of the world have access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy services. Solar heating systems are particularly well-suited to cover the enormous demand for hot tap water for hygiene purposes. Inaventa Solar has experience delivering heating systems to underdeveloped areas via the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR).

Case study

Seasonal storage of solar heat

Seasonal storage of solar heat can make the energy available throughout the year. When the solar heat is deposited in the ground, it can be harvested when needed, even through the coldest and darkest winter months. Inaventa Solar is developing an innovative concept for seasonal in-ground storage of heat, which also can also facilitate efficient storage where there is a lot of water in the ground - storage of heat in water-rich masses. At our solar collector factory at Jevnaker, Norway, we have drilled deep energy storage wells, which we are now starting to “charge” with energy from the roof-integrated solar heating system at the factory building, combined with surplus heat from the production plant. The stored energy will be used to heat the factory hall in winter and to extend the growing season in a nearby greenhouse.
